Cleanroom and cleanliness suitability tested in accordance with VDI 2083 Part 8
At the Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart, components and equipment are tested for their cleanliness suitability.
The test is based on the new guideline VDI 2083 Part 8.
Up till now, specifications concerning cleanliness and cleanroom suitability were not clearly defined. A new guideline - VDI 2083 Part 8 – drawn up in cooperation with the Fraunhofer IPA, rectifies this deficit.
Cleanroom suitability is concerned with the suitability of components and equipment for use in specific cleanroom classes according to their particulate emission behaviour. Cleanliness suitability, on the other hand, is also concerned with suitability regarding defined specific end-product parameters.
Not only does the VDI 2083 Part 8 guideline define these characteristics clearly, it also regulates the procedure for performing the measurements required. The Fraunhofer IPA carries out cleanroom and cleanliness suitability tests in accordance with these regulations.
