Fraunhofer IPA Test Seal for Cleanroom Suitability

At the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA in StuttgartGermany, components and equipment are tested for their suitability for use in cleanrooms. Tested products are awarded an IPA qualification seal.

Tests are carried out in accordance with internationally-recognized standards and guidelines in the Fraunhofer IPA cleanroom laboratories. The IPA qualification tests are especially concerned with a product’s particulate emission behaviour and ESD and outgassing properties.

The results of these tests are of interest to manufacturers of clean materials, components and systems for two reasons; customers not only receive the results of the tests but also an IPA Qualification Package.

This package consists of additional test and marketing documents such as the qualification file and an digital graphical presentation of the IPA test seal which has been awarded.

One customer group which is constantly increasingis formed by companies which have not yet marketed their products specifically for use in clean environments. All the information required concerning the suitability of the tested product for this technological field is provided by the IPA Qualification.

Internationally-renownedcompanies from various branches of industry are among the Fraunhofer IPA’s customers.

Further information about the IPA test seal for cleanroom suitability can be obtained from Fraunhofer IPA employees working for the Department for Cleanroom Manufacturing.
